The man behind the counter has a past
Guy is an American-born veteran with Israeli and Ukrainian roots and a former CIA career. He and his wife Kate own OyPizza, where the Sharpies come to rehearse. He always calls her Katya.
He welcomes his nephew Ethan and the class, and plays his favorite song, America My Love, from his phone three to five times a day. The repetition can be funny, depending on the moment.
At the dress rehearsal, Guy knows Yuki will try her reworked Freedom Tango and keeps it from Joseph. After Joseph stops the song and Yuki leaves, Guy admits that making it a surprise was wrong. He still believes in the song, and urges Joseph to call the seventeen-year-old he has hurt.
